Travel is an essential part in the advancement of our society. Without travel, we wouldn’t be able to explore cultural differences. To some, traveling is merely about the distance and not the destination; the thrive of traveling miles away is what feeds their need to explore. You could travel to the beaches of the Bahamas or down the streets of your hometown. No place is the same, every part of the world has its own history and its own way of life.

Traveling to any place is a unique experience. However, going to countries with a different cultures will be the most informational. Alex Rackle, a sophomore at Higley High school, states, “I think it’s important to travel to places with historical background.” This helps explain that traveling to places such as Poland, for the Auschwitz Camp, or to the Netherlands to see Anne Frank’s house is vital.

If you have the slightest interest in your destination and you yearn for education on new places I believe you travel. Learning about the world broadens our knowledge on how miniscule the portion of this life we take up is. It also open up your eyes to other cultures so you’re not just focused on yours. Desa Dragovich, a newcomer to Higley High states, “Without knowing other cultures you become bias towards your own culture.”

Without being educated about the others around you, you could look past struggles or advancements of other countries. Since there are many cultures that differ from all of us, taking the time to come out of your shell and interact with culture is a prodigious way to experience and appreciate it completely.

Traveling isn’t just about sightseeing, it’s about being transported to a place where the culture, social customs, and language may be completely different from yours. Traveling is something to be grateful for. Having a choice to go on a trip at such an adolescent age is something we shouldn’t take for granted. Being able to feed your wanderlust is a blessing and exploring the world is a dream many are proud to have.
